Job Description
  • Co-author health education newsletters.

Job DescriptionThis position directs and manages all aspects of United Way’s health and nutrition activities associated with the Centers for Disease Control’s Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CDC-CPPW) federal grant. Reporting to the Director of Youth Development, this director oversees and directs all of the school-age strategies and tasks associated with the schools and neighborhoods subcommittee of Activate Tucson, and the Youth Development Coalition’s Health Subcommittee. In addition, this director will be responsible for searching and applying for federal and local grants to sustain and enhance the school and community health initiative.

This is a full time position for a motivated individual with a high level of initiative, excellent management, communication, organizational and facilitation skills. Working with closely other United Way and Activate Tucson staff as well as community volunteers from government, social service agencies, foundations, and businesses, the individual coordinates activities in collaboration with local agencies that deliver health and wellness services to children and youth in child care centers, schools, afterschool programs, neighborhoods and other faith and community-based organizations.
