Job DescriptionAs an individual or family member with first hand experience in the public behavioral health system, responsible for building partnerships with individuals, families, youth, and key stakeholders to promote recovery, resiliency and wellness. Establish structure and mechanisms necessary to meet contract compliance through increasing individual/family voice in the areas of leadership and service delivery; advocating for service environments that are supportive and welcoming; working with members and families to identify concerns and remove barriers that affect service delivery. Ensure individuals, youth and family members have input on behavioral health system planning, policy development and program implementation. Promote the availability of peer/family support programs to individuals and families.

Supervise assigned staff. The Individual and Family Affairs Administrator shall work collaboratively with the ADHS/DBHS Office of Individual and Family Affairs. Reports to Director, Workforce Development; position is located at Plaza Arboleda.
Job RequirementsMaster’s degree in behavioral health or related field plus two (2) years of experience in the behavioral health field and/or experience in group or committee planning, or organizational change initiatives or Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or related field plus four (4) years of experience in the behavioral health field and/or experience in group or committee planning, or organizational change initiatives. One year of supervisory experience preferred. In order to hold this position, the person must be receiving or have been the recipient of publicly funded Behavioral Health services, or be a family member with first hand experience in the publicly funded behavioral health system. This experience is required since the person will be assisting individuals who have or are currently receiving publicly funded Behavioral Health services and will be responsible for the promotion of recovery and support services within the community.
